Job summary

Riva Recruiting in Houston is seeking a commodities middle-office professional to own the full post-trade lifecycle—from validation to settlement and reconciliations across listed, OTC, and physical markets.

You'll manage daily position/cash reconciliations, handle option exercises and expiries, onboard counterparties, and drive process improvements in a lean team with broad product exposure and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years in commodities middle office, trade support or operations.
• Hands-on with exchange-traded and OTC commodities; physical/warehouse exposure is a plus.
• Strong numerical skills and comfort with product math.
• Clear communicator who works well in a team.

Responsibilities

Riva Recruiting is partnering with a global investment firm that is scaling its commodities business and adding to its Houston operations team. This team sits at the center of the trade: futures, options, OTC and physical, from capture to settlement.

What you'll own

• The full post-trade lifecycle: validation, affirmation, settlement and reconciliation across listed, OTC and physical
• Daily position and cash recs, plus same-day exception management
• Option exercises, assignments and expiries
• Onboarding new counterparties and exchanges as the business grows
• Process and system improvements. You'll be expected to make things better, not just keep them running.

What you bring

• 3-8 years in commodities middle office, trade support or operations
• Hands-on experience with exchange-traded and OTC commodities. Exposure to physical, warehouse or environmental products is a big plus.
• Comfort with the math behind the products you support
• A clear communicator who wants a team, not a silo
