Job summary

Johnson & Johnson's MedTech internship program welcomes a Coop student in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. Under mentor guidance, you will join a department or project to improve process efficiency, cycle time, cost, and quality through FPX and lean methodologies.

Qualifications

• Completion of Undergraduate Freshman year at an accredited University is required.
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Have a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher.
• Incumbent must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and have completed at least two years of studies.
• Previous Internship/Coop and/or Academic Research experience is preferred.
• Extracurricular experience in a student association/organization is a plus.
• Requires fluency in Spanish and English; must have excellent ability to write in English and Spanish.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Visio and Minitab knowledge is highly desirable.
• Ability to assess issues, establish priorities, and act with urgency.
• U.S. work authorization; no visa sponsorship required.

Responsibilities

• Executes projects to improve process efficiency, cycle time, cost, and quality.
• Applies Lean/Six Sigma methods to drive improvements.
• Writes/verifies specifications and maintains docs for products and processes.
• Assists in concept design for new products and tests.
• Prepares standard reports to communicate results.
• Complies with environmental, safety, and health policies.
