Overview

The Bulwark is a fast‑growing media company dedicated to delivering sharp, independent analysis in defense of America’s liberal democracy. Through podcasts, newsletters, and videos, we cut through the noise to shape the national conversation about politics, democracy, and the future of the country.

About the Role

As an Operations Associate, you will support the behind‑the‑scenes work that keeps The Bulwark running smoothly. This is a hands‑on role for someone organized, curious, and eager to learn how a growing media company operates.

In this role, you will:

• Assist with business and content operations – tracking key metrics, researching audience trends, and supporting planning and decision‑making across teams.
• Support hiring and onboarding – posting jobs, communicating with candidates, and helping with orientation.
• Coordinate logistics and on‑the‑ground operations for live events and merchandise projects, working closely with the Events & Merch team.
• Support the social media team with scheduling or posting content and help grow our audience across platforms.
• Help manage day‑to‑day operations – vendor coordination, office management, scheduling, internal communications, and documentation.
• Support internal systems and processes (e.g., HR, finance, and team operations).
• Assist with project tracking and follow‑up to keep tasks on schedule.
• Jump in wherever needed – we’re a small team and value people who take initiative.
