Job summary

MBM Hospitality in Torrance, CA seeks an experienced Operations Associate to join the Headquarters team. You will coordinate production, manage inventory, assist with tastings, and support Operations, Kitchen, and Sales to ensure flawless catering events across Los Angeles and Orange County.

Ideal candidates are passionate about events, food, and hospitality, with strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen/warehouse.
• Must have current Food Handler Certificate.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye to attention to detail.
• A team player with good communication skills and willingness to support all departments.
• Able to work in a fast pace environment, patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure.
• Very good physical condition and endurance with the ability to be on your feet for long hours and lift up to 50lbs-100lbs.
• Punctual, comes to work on time and possess a good attitude.
• Great problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
• Open availability Monday - Sunday and ready to work based on scheduled events (not to exceed 40 hours/week).
• Willing to drive company vans when necessary.
• Reliable transportation and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Operations, Kitchen, & Sales team to plan, coordinate, and successfully execute the entire production of each scheduled catering event.
• Catering Pack Out & Load Out for each event including quality & quantity check of food, equipment, & front of house items in its proper allocated van according to the event worksheet & departure schedule.
• Assisting Event Staff & Drivers during load out & unloading.
• Work alongside Head Chef & Prep Cooks ensuring prep sheets are accurate and all ingredients and food items are accounted for accuracy.
• Thoroughly review details event worksheet menu including ingredients, dietary restrictions, protein cuts/temperatures, total kitchen counts to ensure accuracy and guest satisfaction.
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines, including company policies (refer to Employee Handbook).
• Supporting Kitchen/Operations/Sales Team as needed such as shopping, delivery, fleet management, inventory management of food/beverage, and assist with Tastings as needed.
• Beverage Department Assistance: Preparing garnishes and other beverage items, loading & unpacking beverage items and bins, shopping for beverage needs, assisting the Bar Director in maintaining beverage shelves cleanliness & organization.
• Special Operations Projects: Performs other duties as assignment by leadership team.

MBM Hospitality is a busy catering company located in Torrance, Ca offering full-service catering for special events, weddings, corporate events all over Los Angeles and Orange County. We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Operations Associate ready to grow with our company at our Headquarters. The ideal candidate is passionate about event planning, details, food, and hospitality!

As the Operations Associate at the MBM Hospitality Headquarters Office, you will work alongside the Operations, Kitchen, & Sales Team ensuring the smooth and successful production & delivery of each event. Your main tasks will include event production coordination, event food load outs, food/bar/ venue inventory management and supporting Kitchen/Operations Team as needed such as shopping, delivery, pickups, assisting with tastings when needed, and performs other duties assigned by leadership team.
