Job Summary

The Operations Associate is responsible for the safe and efficient handling of grain, fertilizer, chemicals, and anhydrous ammonia at the Latty facility. This role involves loading and unloading materials via rail and truck, performing equipment maintenance and repairs, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the facility. Safety and attention to detail are critical components of this position.

Key Responsibilities

Grain Operations:

• Load and unload grain from railcars and trucks.
• Operate grain handling equipment (elevators, conveyors, dryers, etc.).
• Monitor inventory and report irregularities.
• Conduct quality checks on incoming and outgoing grain.
  
  

Fertilizer & Chemical Handling

• Load and unload dry and liquid fertilizer products via rail and truck.
• Safely handle and load anhydrous ammonia.
• Mix and blend custom fertilizer and chemical applications per work orders.
• Maintain proper documentation for chemical handling and regulatory compliance.
  
  

Repairs & Maintenance

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and minor electrical issues.
• Assist with seasonal equipment setup and tear-down.
  
  

Facility Housekeeping & Safety

• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.
• Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE.
• Complete safety training, including anhydrous ammonia handling certification.
  
  

Tending & Support

• Assist with tendering chemical and fertilizer products to applicators and customers.
• Provide excellent service during peak seasons by supporting various operational tasks as needed.
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to operate heavy equipment.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certifications for chemical handling and anhydrous ammonia.
• CDL or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in outdoor conditions.
