Job description

Reports To: Senior Controller / Finance & Operations Leadership

Experience: 3–6 Years

POSITION OVERVIEW

Our client, a New York-based hedge fund running a special situations credit and equities strategy with roughly $3 billion in AUM, is seeking a driven, detail-oriented Operations Associate to join a small, high-performing operations team. This is a hands‑on role covering the full middle‑and‑back‑office lifecycle across bank debt, liquid credit, and public equities, with direct exposure to senior finance leadership and daily interaction with trading, fund administration, and prime brokerage counterparts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Trade Capture & Lifecycle Management: Support end-to-end operational processing for bank debt/loans, liquid credit, and equity trades, including settlements, funding notices, and administrative agent communications
  • Daily Reconciliations: Perform reconciliations across Enfusion (internal books), HedgeServ (fund administrator), prime brokers, and custodian banks for positions, cash, and collateral
  • P&L & Performance Monitoring: Help maintain and verify intraday and end-of-day P&L using Enfusion and Bloomberg, investigating and resolving pricing or accrual discrepancies promptly — the desk relies on real-time visibility
  • Treasury & Cash Management: Assist with daily cash forecasting, margin/collateral movements, FX exposures, and wire preparation
  • Interest & Valuation Calculations: Work through bank debt interest accruals and other credit-related calculations with precision
  • Systems & Reporting: Build proficiency in Enfusion and HedgeServ; use advanced Excel to streamline reporting and month-end close workflows
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • 3–6 years of middle-office, trade support, or fund operations experience at a hedge fund or alternative asset manager
  • Working knowledge of bank debt / loan mechanics and credit products; exposure to public equities is a plus
  • Prior hands‑on experience with Enfusion and/or HedgeServ is a plus, but not required
  • Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal is helpful
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required (large reconciliations, lookup/aggregation formulas)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
CORE COMPETENCIES
  • High analytical precision with a low tolerance for unresolved breaks
  • Self‑starter who can operate with autonomy alongside senior leadership on a lean team
  • Clear, professional communication with internal desks, fund administrators, custodians, and street counterparties
  • Comfortable being in the office daily and available to the desk during market hours
