The role involves assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated by the Store Manager, with a focus on front-end and sales floor operations. Also, assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
• Perform all opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment for customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
• Maintain store areas, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
• When the Store Manager is not present, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
• Process all SSC Corporate directives and communications related to store activities.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
• Ensure proper staffing coverage and that the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
• Manage cashiering activities to ensure cash handling practices are followed.
• Oversee promotional displays and seasonal areas to maximize sales.
• Coordinate signage and manage store supplies and expenses.
• Assist with merchandising, maintaining checkout areas, and restocking coolers and displays daily.
• Manage the Drive Item program and assist with weekly scheduling.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Preferred prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-energy team environment.
