Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager, focusing on the front-end and sales floor operations.
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
• Keep all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
• When the Store Manager is not present, take supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
• Process all SSC Corporate directives and store-related communications.
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise.
• Follow VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
• Maintain sales effectiveness on the sales floor daily.
• Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
• Enhance promotional effectiveness of store fixtures and displays.
• Manage seasonal store areas for sales effectiveness.
• Coordinate signage used in the store.
• Process damaged merchandise daily.
• Assist with weekly scheduling creation.
• Help manage store supplies and control expenses.
• Assist with merchandising and maintaining the checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
• Ensure coolers and program racks/displays are refilled daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prior retail and management experience preferred.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
