Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, take direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, Key Survey information, and other store-related communications delegated by the Store Manager.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies and procedures.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage and sales floor effectiveness daily.
11. Manage cashiering activities to follow cash handling practices and guidelines.
12. Coordinate store signage, displays, and seasonal merchandise management.
13. Manage store supplies and expense control.
14. Maintain checkout area to maximize impulse sales and ensure store displays are replenished daily.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
