Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly Associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
9. Handle requests and additional communications related to store activities as delegated by the Store Manager.
10. Assist with the receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD Policies and Procedures.
11. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
12. Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
13. Manage cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
14. Enhance promotional effectiveness through store-front fixtures and displays.
15. Manage seasonal areas to maximize sales.
16. Coordinate signage used in the store.
17. Process damaged merchandise daily.
18. Assist in creating weekly schedules.
19. Manage store supplies and control expenses.
20. Assist with merchandising and maintaining the checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
21. Refill coolers and store-front displays daily, including programs like balloons, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
