Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, focusing mainly on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with all store functions and daily activities as directed by the Store Manager.
- Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
- Adhere to all policies and safety guidelines.
- Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
- Keep all store areas, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
- When the Store Manager is not present, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
- Process all SSC Corporate directives, including Pull and Hold/Destroy, Task Compliance, and Key Survey information.
- Handle additional store activity communications as delegated by the Store Manager.
- Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
- Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
- Help ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily.
- Manage cashiering activities to follow all cash handling practices and guidelines.
- Oversee promotional displays and seasonal areas for effectiveness.
- Coordinate signage in the store.
- Assist with merchandise receipt, return, and damage processing daily.
- Support the creation of weekly schedules.
- Assist in managing store supplies and controlling expenses.
- Help merchandise and maintain checkout areas to maximize impulse sales.
- Refill coolers and store-front displays daily.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications- Prefer prior retail and management experience.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
- Ability to lift, bend, and transport up to 50 lbs of merchandise.
- Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
