Position Overview: Responsible for assisting with all operational tasks within the store as delegated and assigned by the Store Manager, with a main focus on front-end and sales floor operations. Also assist with hiring, training, and developing store associates as delegated by the Store Manager.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain store areas, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives and related communications.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Ensure proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Ensure sales floor effectiveness daily.
12. Manage cashiering activities to ensure proper cash handling practices are followed.
13. Manage store displays and seasonal areas for promotional effectiveness.
14. Coordinate signage used in the store.
15. Process damaged merchandise daily.
16. Assist with weekly schedule creation.
17. Manage store supplies and control expenses.
18. Maintain merchandising and checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
19. Refill coolers and program racks/displays daily (e.g., balloons, sunglasses, batteries).

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

1. Prefer prior retail and management experience.
2. Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
3. Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
4. Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
