Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with all store functions and day-to-day activities as directed by the Store Manager
• Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager
• Help protect and secure all company assets, including store cash
• Adhere to all policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
• Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors
• Keep all areas of the store, including stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery
• When the Store Manager is not present, assume direct supervisory responsibility for hourly Associates
• Process all SSC Corporate directives and related store activities
• Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies
• Ensure proper staffing coverage daily
• Ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily
• Manage cashiering activities, ensuring cash handling practices are followed
• Optimize promotional displays and store fixtures
• Manage seasonal sales areas and ensure proper signage
• Process damaged merchandise daily
• Assist in creating weekly schedules
• Manage store supplies and control expenses
• Maintain merchandising and checkout areas to maximize impulse sales
• Refill coolers and display racks daily (e.g., balloons, sunglasses, batteries)

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Preferably prior retail and management experience
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment
