Principal Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist with all store functions and day-to-day store activities as directed by the Store Manager.
2. Perform opening and closing procedures in the absence of the Store Manager.
3. Assist in protecting and securing all company assets, including store cash.
4. Adhere to all policies and procedures, including safety guidelines.
5. Maintain a professional and friendly environment with customers, subordinates, and supervisors.
6. Maintain all areas of the store, including the stockroom and sales floor, to company standards, including recovery.
7. When the Store Manager is not on the premises, have direct supervisory responsibility for all hourly associates.
8. Process all SSC Corporate directives and related store communications.
9. Assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise, following VIP and DSD policies.
10. Assist in ensuring proper staffing coverage daily.
11. Assist in managing cashiering activities, ensuring cash handling practices are followed.
12. Manage promotional fixtures and displays for store effectiveness.
13. Oversee seasonal areas to maximize sales.
14. Coordinate signage used in the store.
15. Process damaged merchandise daily.
16. Assist with creating weekly schedules.
17. Manage store supplies and control expenses.
18. Assist with merchandising and maintaining checkout area to maximize impulse sales.
19. Ensure coolers and displays are refilled daily, including programs like balloons, sunglasses, batteries, etc.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications

• Prefer prior retail and management experience.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills.
• Ability to lift, bend, and transport merchandise weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in a high-energy team environment.
