Job summary

The Boys’ Club of New York (BCNY) is seeking an Operations Assistant to support clubhouse operations during program hours. You will act as a jack of all trades, assisting with youth group management, lesson implementation, supply distribution, and member supervision.

Responsibilities include monitoring member safety, recording attendance, conducting tours for visitors, and assisting with a variety of indoor/outdoor activities while ensuring materials are cared for and organized.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary training or college credits, 6 months to 1 year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Demonstrated organizational/leadership ability.
• Experience working and/or volunteering in a camp, after-school or educational setting preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and positively interact with members at all times to ensure they are safe and engaged.
• Record hourly ratio counts, ensure members scan into areas, and maintain all required evaluation information.
• Provide engaging and informative tours to visitors, potential members, parents, and community.
• Monitor program areas, including but not limited to entryways, locker rooms, coat check.
• Participate with group in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities, including games, arts and crafts, theatre, computer lab, swimming, and field trips.
• Ensure proper care of materials, organize game room, and report misused or damaged materials.
• Attend mandatory professional development trainings.
• Other duties as assigned?
