Job summary

Northbound Executive Search is seeking an Operations Analyst for a hybrid contract role in New York City. The candidate will support middle office and trade operations, covering the full trade lifecycle from execution to settlement, and collaborate with Front Office, Operations, and Accounting teams.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 years in financial services operations, strong Excel and financial system proficiency, and a sharp eye for detail.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in operations, middle office, trade support, investment operations, or a related function within financial services
• Strong understanding of the trade lifecycle and post-trade processes
• Experience with trade reconciliations, settlements, and resolving operational breaks
• Strong Excel skills and proficiency with financial systems
• Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Experience supporting equities, fixed income, or other financial products is a plus
• Loan operations or loan trading experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day operational and middle office support for trading and investment activities
• Support the full trade lifecycle from execution through settlement
• Monitor trade activity and resolve discrepancies, breaks, and settlement issues
• Review trade confirmations and ensure transactions are accurately captured and processed
• Perform daily trade, cash, and position reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve trade breaks and other operational exceptions
• Support settlement activities and follow up on failed or delayed trades
• Liaise with Front Office, Operations, Accounting, Custody, and other internal teams
• Maintain accurate records and documentation related to trade activity
• Assist with operational reporting, controls, and process improvements
• Support ad hoc projects and other operational initiatives as needed
