Job summary

Abacus Group, LLC in Manhattan, NY is seeking an Operations Analyst to join their client’s investment banking team. The role focuses on trade allocations, settlements, and lifecycle monitoring across asset classes, with an emphasis on accuracy and timely processing.

You will coordinate onboarding, maintain client data, support regulatory reporting, and collaborate with Trading, Sales, Operations, and Compliance to resolve issues. Hours are 8–5 in-office during training; later, a hybrid schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in Operations, Middle Office, Settlements, or trade support.
  • Financial services industry experience required.
  • Understanding of the trade lifecycle.
  • Series 7 or SIE and Series 99 preferred; must obtain the required licenses within three months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Process domestic and international trade allocations, bookings, and settlements across multiple asset classes using electronic trading platforms.
  • Monitor trade lifecycles from execution through settlement, investigating and resolving exceptions to ensure timely completion.
  • Reconcile daily trading activity, cash, and position balances while researching and resolving operational breaks.
  • Maintain client static data, including settlement instructions, account details, commission schedules, and reference data.
  • Coordinate new client onboarding, account setup, and documentation for institutional clients and managed accounts.
  • Support regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring accurate transaction reporting and operational compliance.
  • Collaborate with Trading, Sales, Operations, Technology, Compliance, and external counterparties to resolve trade and settlement issues.
  • Track production issues, system enhancements, and testing activities, including user acceptance testing for new releases.
  • Analyze operational workflows and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency, reduce risk, and strengthen controls.
  • Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and ad hoc analyses to support business operations and management decision-making

Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Series 7 or SIE and Series 99 preferred; must obtain the required licenses within three months of hire
