Job summary

PITT OHIO is seeking an Operations Admin-Customer Service at our Glen Burnie, MD location. This role supports customers via telephone, email, and fax, handling freight charges, pickups, tracing, and PODs.

The position involves data entry, invoicing, and cash handling for AR/AP, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness. The ideal candidate will have strong English communication, be proficient in MS Office, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must communicate effectively in English with internal and external customers.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills required.
• Experience in transportation and/or customer service is a plus.
• Haz-mat or worker’s compensation experience is helpful.
• Strong problem solving and analytical ability essential.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software products.
• Strong typing and ten-key skills required.
• Some duties may require night shift hours.
• Ability to adapt to changing tasks and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with internal and external customers about freight charges, pickups, tracing, tracking, and PODs.
• Data entry including scanning bills, P&D entry, fuel mileage, and payroll.
• Process paperwork and invoices; monitor checks and cash for AR/AP.
• Help process and monitor Haz-mat information for loads departing or arriving at the facility.
• Interact with and support supervisors, drivers, and dock workers.
• Assist in monitoring compliance across areas including new hires, safety, payroll, and AP.

Responsibilities

• Communicate (via telephone, email, and fax) with both internal and external customers on a wide range of issues including, but not limited to, freight charges, pick ups, tracing, tracking, and POD’s
• Data entry, consisting of, but not limited to, scanning bills, P&D entry, fuel mileage, SDC'ing of freight bills, and payroll
• Process paperwork and invoices, as well as, monitor checks and cash for accounts receivable and accounts payable
• Help process and monitor paperwork and Haz-mat information for loads departing or arriving at the facility

Other Duties:

• Interact with and support supervisors, drivers, and dock workers
• Assist in monitoring and compliance in all areas including, but not limited to, new hires, safety, P&D, OS&D, payroll, and accounts payable

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Command of the English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
• Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Previous experience in transportation industry and/or customer service is a plus
• Experience with Haz-mat or worker’s compensation is also very helpful
• Problem solving and analytical ability is essential
• Must be competent and proficient in Microsoft Office Software products
• Must possess strong typing and ten key skills
• Certain job duties within this classification require night shift hours
• Ability to react to change productively and handle other essential tasks as assigned

• Potential candidates must be able to endure a noisy, dirty and quick paced environment with many interruptions
