Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. is seeking an Operational Technology Engineer to advance digitization and automation on the shop floor. You will connect machines and sensors, support MES interfaces, and improve data capture for production equipment to boost performance, traceability, quality, and safety.

You will collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams on Industry 4.0 initiatives and continuous improvement. Relocate to Richland, MS is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • 2+ years of OT systems or industrial automation experience.
  • Experience with C#/.NET and Python and PLC interfaces.
  • Familiarity with MES integration and OT-to-enterprise connectivity.
  • Strong troubleshooting and collaboration skills.

  • Support shop floor digitalization and automation via OT software and data capture.
  • Integrate machines, sensors, actuators, and production systems with MES.
  • Develop IIoT, monitoring, and data acquisition solutions to improve equipment performance.
  • Enable traceability and quality through smart tool connectivity and data integration.
  • Support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance to improve reliability.
  • Ensure OT systems are safe, reliable, and maintainable across operations.

As an Operational Technology Engineer, you will support the digitization and automation of shop floor processes across manufacturing operations. Your day may include developing OT software, connecting machines and sensors, supporting MES interfaces, and improving data capture solutions for production equipment. You will help enable better equipment performance, traceability, quality, and safety through reliable system integration and automation. You will also work closely with manufacturing, engineering, and IT teams to support continuous improvement and Industry 4.0 initiatives.

  • Support shop floor digitalization and automation through OT software, machine connectivity, and data capture solutions
  • Integrate machines, sensors, actuators, and production systems with MES and enterprise platforms
  • Develop and maintain IIoT, monitoring, and data acquisition solutions to improve equipment performance and reporting
  • Enable traceability and quality through smart tool connectivity, inspection interfaces, and production data integration
  • Support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions to improve equipment availability and reliability
  • Help ensure OT systems are safe, reliable, and maintainable across manufacturing operations
  • Must be willing relocate to Richland, MS
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, Manufacturing, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • 2+ years of experience in OT systems, industrial automation, manufacturing technology, or a related production environment
  • Experience with C#/.NET and Python, along with knowledge of PLC interfaces, machine signals, sensors, actuators, and industrial control systems
  • Familiarity with industrial networking, MES integration, IIoT platforms, data acquisition, APIs, and OT-to-enterprise system connectivity
  • Strong troubleshooting, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with an understanding of traceability, predictive maintenance, and machine safety systems
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
