The role offers direct collaboration with cross-functional teams in Southern California, providing hands‑on experience in security master data management and operational workflows that underpin critical investment decisions. Candidates with a background in financial services operations and a keen eye for data accuracy will find this an engaging challenge in a high‑expectation environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage and update security master records for a diverse range of instruments including bank loans, bonds, and structured credit products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Conduct daily data validation routines to confirm the accuracy and completeness of information sourced from internal systems and external vendors.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in reference data, coordinating with trading, accounting, risk, and compliance teams to maintain data consistency.
  • Support the enhancement and testing of data management tools, working alongside technology and operations to uphold data governance standards.
  • Drive automation efforts by leveraging scripting and AI tools to streamline data workflows and reduce manual interventions.
  • Execute operational projects focused on improving data quality and contribute to broader data modernization initiatives across the firm.
Qualifications:
Must-Have:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in security master setup, reference data management, investment operations, or middle office functions within asset management, hedge funds, fund administration, custodians, or financial data providers.
  • Solid understanding of fixed income instruments such as loans, bonds, structured products, and private credit.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel for data extraction, validation, and reporting tasks.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to maintaining data integrity and resolving data issues efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communicator capable of translating complex data issues for non-technical stakeholders.
Nice-to-Have:

  • Exposure to private equity or alternative investment data environments.
  • Knowledge of investment management platforms and data vendors including Bloomberg, FactSet, or Markit.
