Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience with 8–10 years leading SCM teams.
  • 3–5 years in an engineer or supply chain environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of operational buying principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Analytical, problem-solving abilities and results-oriented with deadlines.

An operational procurement manager in a product manufacturing environment typically starts the day by reviewing inventory levels, purchase orders, and supplier delivery schedules to identify potential issues or delays. They evaluate production needs to avoid material shortages, coordinate material lead time updates, and monitor safety stock levels to ensure uninterrupted operations while mitigating risks with suppliers. They work closely with internal teams, such as production and logistics, to address procurement needs and streamline workflows. Throughout the day they analyze procurement data to monitor supplier performance and manage inventory replenishment. Additionally they focus on ensuring effective material planning and providing long‑term material forecasts to support business continuity. The operational procurement manager is also responsible for implementing procurement strategies that align with overall business objectives, ensuring cost efficiency and supply continuity.

  • Design and implement creative, innovative processes for material planning and procurement to optimize performance and drive continuous improvement.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. 8–10 years’ experience handling SCM team, with 3–5 years’ experience in an engineer or supply chain environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of operational buying principles and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and material management.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills. Analytical and strong problem‑solving abilities.
  • Results orientated with the ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines.
  • Experience in the Energy Products industry; knowledge of circuit breaker products is a plus.
