An Operational Planning Engineer in the Network Management Centre (NMC) will be responsible for planning all outage requirements on the electricity network up to and including 132kV (EHV). They ensure engineers can plan their work and operate the network by conducting power system analysis and implementing contingencies for faults.
The role involves balancing network access for capital and revenue work while maintaining secure customer supplies and supporting OFGEM's incentives.
This position is critical within the control room monitoring SSEN's southern network, which serves over 3.1 million customers and operates 24/7, 365 days a year. Flexibility in working hours is available, but presence in the control room during core hours is required.
