Job summary

Slalom in Boston is seeking an Operational Improvement Consultant to assess operations, map processes, and identify lean, Six Sigma, and Agile opportunities. You will lead process mining efforts using Celonis, Signavio, and ARIS, build business cases, and collaborate across functions.

Hybrid work with onsite presence as required; base salary ranges from $84,000 to $105,000 with an annual discretionary bonus. We value strong communication, change management, and a data-driven mindset.

Qualifications

3+ years in operational improvement or transformation.
Proven track record of delivering measurable improvements.
Strong communication and facilitation skills.
Ability to work in data-driven environments with change management.

Responsibilities

Conduct assessments of operations, workflows, and systems to identify improvement opportunities using lean, Six Sigma, and Agile principles.
Lead process mining initiatives and analyze data to build actionable process models.
Perform root cause analyses on performance issues using event logs.
Develop business cases, roadmaps, and governance for cross-functional initiatives.
Lead deployment and governance of process mining across units with ROI focus.
Provide consulting on UiPath, Power Automate, Co-Pilot Studio, and AIMS++.
Facilitate workshops and data walkthroughs with stakeholders.
Create reusable methodologies, templates, and toolkits for scalable process intelligence.

Job description

Title: Operational Improvement Consultant

Hybrid/In office: We are hybrid but there are expectations that if your team leader requires you onsite that you are able to meet those expectations/requirements

Role Overview:

Conduct assessments of operations, workflows, and systems to identify improvement opportunities using lean, Six Sigma, and Agile principles
Leverage process mining tools (e.g. Celonis, Signavio, ARIS), and tasks capture tools to transform and analyze complex data, discover inefficiencies, and build actionable process models
Perform root cause analyses on performance issues, rework, and SLA breaches using event logs and structured process diagnostics
Develop and maintain detailed business cases, process improvement roadmaps, and governance frameworks for initiatives spanning business functions
Lead and support the deployment, scaling, and governance of process mining across business units, ensuring alignment with strategic goals focused on return on investment
Provide consulting support on associated automation platforms including UiPath, Microsoft Power Automate, Co-Pilot Studio, and AIMS++
Support in process discovery workshops, working groups, and data walkthroughs with stakeholders to align on challenges and opportunities
Create reusable methodologies, templates, and toolkits that enable repeatable success and scale process intelligence capability
Process Mining awareness: exposure to tools such as Celonis, ARIS Process Mining, and Signavio—including event log management, process visualization, variant exploration, and KPI configuration
Methodologies: Lean Six Sigma familiarity, Agile delivery frameworks, and process discovery techniques

What you will bring:

3+ years of experience in operational improvement, process improvement, business consulting, or transformation, ideally in mid- to large-scale enterprise settings
Demonstrated success in identifying and delivering measurable process improvements
Strong communication and facilitation skills
Ability to work in complex, data-driven environments with a clear understanding of change management dynamics
