Job summary

Turner Construction Co. is seeking a Finance Intern for the Atlanta Main division to support profit centers with fundamental accounting duties across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, reconciliation, and related services.

Under supervision of the Accounting Manager or Senior Accountant, you will assist with monthly close, audit requests, processing project invoices, vendor setup, tax documentation, and preparation of backup for payments while gaining exposure to construction

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a 4-year college offering Accounting or Finance majors, with at least 1 year of education.
• Willing to work standard work week.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills through leadership or volunteer work.
• Passionate about Turner Finance business strategy, culture and values.
• Take personal and professional responsibility for actions.
• Enthusiastic, proactive, adaptable with attention to detail.
• Able to work independently with some oversight, and in a team.
• Strong organizational skills to document and manage information.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in computer data entry, with MS Office and intermediate to advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Assist accountant to ensure billing and receivables align with client contracts.
• Process accounts payable for vendor invoices and keep projects up to date.
• Process subcontractor payables and ensure lien waivers and contracts are in place.
• Assist with monthly close by posting or accruing client bills and costs.
• Support internal and external audit requests.
• Prepare multi-project invoices for central financial center.
• Handle vendor setup, tax reporting and tax exempt certificates administration.
