Job summary

East West Bank in Pasadena is seeking an Accountant for the Operations Accounting team. You will perform daily to monthly accounting tasks, support audits, and assist with regulatory reporting in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.

The role requires a 1–2 year accounting background, GAAP knowledge, strong Excel and ERP/macro tooling, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with multiple business units. Competitive hourly compensation is offered.

Qualifications

• GAAP knowledge and concepts.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• 1–2 years accounting experience; banking/financial services preferred.
• Strong Excel; ERP systems and data automation tools a plus.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly operational accounting activities including reconciliations, accruals, reclassifications, cost allocations, and other tasks.
• Participate in month-end and quarter-end close processes with variance analysis and journal entries.
• Assist in preparing banking regulatory reports and financial reporting requests.
• Support internal and external audits with schedules and documentation.
• Research and resolve reconciling items and discrepancies; escalate issues promptly.
• Communicate effectively within the organization and with external parties; back up the team as needed.
