Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking an Operating Room Technician to support the scrub role and prepare the OR for a range of surgical procedures. You will assist the surgeon under RN supervision, maintain aseptic technique, and ensure patient safety in Adolescents and Adults as applicable.

Qualifications include at least 6 months of OR technologist experience or a new graduate from an approved program, plus 18 months for weekend/night shifts in acute care surgery; BLS is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as an OR Technologist or a recent graduate of an approved surgical technologist program.
• Weekend Professional and Night Shift: 18 months of acute care surgical experience and ability to demonstrate competence in complex procedures including orthopedic and neuro surgery.
• AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - REQUIRED

Responsibilities

• Prepare the Operating Room and assist the surgeon in a scrub role for all types of surgical procedures.
• Assist the RN with patient care according to unit specific guidelines and within the Operating Room Technician scope of practice.
• Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including infection control requirements.
• Able to independently scrub surgical procedures performed at this institution.
• Demonstrates knowledge and practice of strict aseptic technique according to AORN
