Job summary

Prime Healthcare’s Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL is seeking an Operating Room Technician to assist in sterile supply preparation, maintain the sterile field, and hand instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

Requirements include a High School diploma, ORT training or 3+ years in a surgical setting, experience scrubbing in multiple specialties, and a current BLS certificate. This is a full-time, day-shift role in a busy OR suite.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• ORT training or on-the-job with minimum 3 years surgical experience.
• Experience scrubbing major and minor procedures in GYN, General and Plastics.
• Experience scrubbing minor procedures in ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.
• Current BLS (AHA) certification required on hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile supplies and instruments for each procedure.
• Maintain sterile field during cases.
• Provide surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments as needed.

Education

Surgical scrubbing experience in GYN General Plastics

• Schedule: Full time Days|8 hour shifts| 7am-3:30 with variable hours

Responsibilities

The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.

2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).

3. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).

4. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).

5. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
