Job summary

Prime St Francis Hospital in Evanston, IL seeks an Operating Room Technician for per diem day shifts to support the Surgery department. The role entails preparing sterile supplies, maintaining the sterile field, and handing instruments to the surgeon during procedures.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent, ORT training or equivalent experience (3+ years preferred), experience scrubbing various surgical specialties, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required for new hires starting April 2014.
• Graduate of an ORT training program or on-the-job training with minimum 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
• Experience scrubbing minor and major procedures across generalized surgical specialties (GYN, General, Plastics).
• Experience scrubbing in specialty areas (orthopedic, neuro, ENT, Uro, etc.).
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate on hire and maintain current.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

The Operating Room Tech is responsible for the preparation of sterile supplies and instruments for each assigned procedure, maintaining sterile field during case and providing surgeon with sterile supplies and instruments during assigned procedures.

1. 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
2. 2. Graduate of an ORT training program or on the job training with a minimum of 3 years experience (surgical setting preferred).
3. 3. Experience in scrubbing minor and major procedures in the generalized surgical specialties, (i.e., GYN, General and Plastics).
4. 4. Experience in scrubbing at least minor procedures in the specialty surgical areas (i.e., ortho, neuro, ENT, Uro. Etc.).
5. 5. Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Pay Transparency

Saint Francis Hospital offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $25.30. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
