Job summary

Kaiser Permanente’s Surgical Services is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to support the operating room team. The role requires understanding the procedure, anticipating the surgeon’s needs, and maintaining patient safety and sterile technique during operative care.

Responsibilities include passing instruments, assisting in tissue handling, and ensuring equipment readiness while supporting an environment of high reliability and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Two years of operating room scrub experience within the last three years.
• Must hold a national certification in surgical technology (NCCT or NBSTSA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Passes instruments and supplies during surgery and assists as directed.
• Maintains aseptic technique and sterile field throughout procedures.
• Assists with positioning, draping, instrument handling, and tissue care.
• Cleans and prepares operating room and equipment between cases.
• Supports with documentation, labeling of specimens, and safe handling of medications used in surgery.
