Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Surgical Technologist II to assist in preparing and caring for the surgical patient in the operating room. You will collaborate with nurses and anesthesia, maintain sterile technique, and support surgeons during routine to complex procedures.

Ideal candidates have CAAHP-accredited training and NBSTSA/NCCT certification. New graduates are welcome; the role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a CAAHP accredited training program for Operating Room Technicians.
• NBSTSA or NCCT certification as a Surgical Technologist.
• New graduates accepted; prior experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room by selecting and opening sterile supplies according to procedure and physician preference card.
• Ensures all sterile equipment and instruments are in good working order prior to the start of the case.
• Passes instruments and provides sterile items to surgeons and assists during procedures, maintaining sterile technique and responding to surgeons' needs.
