Job summary

Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technician for the Operating Room. This full-time day-shift role includes four 10-hour shifts, with call once per week and weekend coverage every 6–7 weekends.

Experience with sterile technique and assisting surgeons is essential. A certified surgical technologist with NBSTSA/JCAHPO/NCCT credentials is required, with CE as applicable. Benefits begin on day one, including a $8,000 sign-on for eligible externals.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited surgical technology program and active NBSTSA/JCAHPO/NCCT certification.
• Alternate pathways include military/public health service training with 16 hours CE every 2 years.
• Grandfathered status allowed for certain work-experience cases with CE requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon and team during procedures with sutures, supplies, and instruments.
• Maintain sterile technique throughout the procedure.
• Provide direct patient care as part of the surgical team.
