Kansas City Orthopedic Alliance invites you to join our new Ambulatory Surgery Center – Center for Advanced Orthopedics in Lenexa as an Operating Room Scrub Technician. You will support sterile procedures under the RN and surgeon, preparing instrumentation and maintaining a sterile field in orthopedic cases.

Responsibilities

• Set up sterile field and equipment for orthopedic procedures.
• Pass instruments to surgeon and first assist accurately.
• Maintain sterile technique throughout procedures.
• Prepare specialty trays, power equipment, and implants.
• Assist with patient positioning and prepping.
• Participate in surgical counts with the circulating RN.
• Handle and route instruments for reprocessing post-case.
• Maintain knowledge of implant systems used by surgeons.
• Perform OR turnover between cases to support throughput.
• Adhere to infection prevention and safety standards.

We are seeking an experienced Operating Room Scrub Technician

to work under the supervision of the RN and surgeon to prepare and maintain a sterile field for orthopedic surgical procedures, providing instrumentation and supplies throughout the case, and shares responsibility for turning over the OR and cleaning between cases.

This is a full-time position.

Responsibilities

• Set up sterile field, instrumentation, and equipment specific to orthopedic procedures (total joints, arthroscopy, trauma, spine, foot/ankle)
• Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon and first assist efficiently and accurately
• Maintain sterile technique throughout the procedure
• Prepare and manage specialty orthopedic trays, power equipment, and implant systems
• Assist with patient positioning and prepping
• Participate in surgical counts (instruments, sponges, sharps) with the circulating RN
• Properly handle, package, and route instruments for reprocessing post-case
• Maintain working knowledge of implant systems used by facility surgeons (e.g., total knee/hip systems, trauma sets, arthroscopy towers)
• Perform OR turnover between cases, including cleaning and resetting the surgical suite, to support efficient OR throughput
• Adhere to all infection prevention, sterile processing, and safety standards
