JMC Jefferson Medical Center in West Virginia seeks a scrub person to support the surgical team during operative procedures. The role involves aseptic technique, assisting with sterile field maintenance, instrument passing, patient positioning, and supply preparation in a high-demand OR setting.

Responsibilities include counts, instrument handling, inventory management, and adherence to safety and documentation standards, with four 10-hour shifts and non-exempt status.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Licensed Practical Nurse program.
• OR completion of a Surgical Technology program.
• OR completion of a Registered Nurse program.
• OR High School Diploma or Equivalent with six months scrub experience.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.

Responsabilités

• Utilizes quality aseptic technique in the OR.
• Assists circulating RN to maintain a sterile field.
• Performs sponge, instrument, and needle counts per guidelines.
• Assists with gowning and gloving surgeons and positioning equipment.
• Passes sterile instruments to the surgical team during procedures.
• Assists with transportation and positioning of patients and retractor use.
• Prepares supplies and equipment per preference cards.
• Assists with sterilization and maintenance of supplies and equipment.
• Monitors inventory; orders and restocks supplies, instruments, and equipment.
• Removes out-of-date items and reprocesses as needed.
• Assists with general cleaning duties of the department.
• Performs equipment checks as assigned.
• Assists with proper recording of patient charges.
• Call with a response time of 30 minutes.
