Job summary

Qualifications

• Current, unencumbered RN license.
• At least 1 year of recent experience in an Operating Room environment.
• BLS and ACLS certifications (active and current).
• Proven knowledge of operating room protocols and sterile technique.
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff.
• Familiarity with electronic health records and operating room documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready according to surgical cases.
• Function as scrub or circulating nurse during procedures, advocating for patient safety and sterile technique throughout.
• Coordinate care with the surgical team before, during, and after procedures, adapting to rapidly changing situations with composure.
• Monitor the patient’s physical and emotional well-being throughout surgery.
• Accurately document intraoperative activities, medications, and events.
• Provide postoperative handoff and conduct thorough patient assessment as per facility policy.
• Remain current with best practices and continuing education in perioperative care.
