Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse II to provide individualized, goal-directed patient care at the competent level using the nursing process. You will collaborate with the health care team to ensure safe, effective patient outcomes.

The position requires an Associate’s Degree in Nursing with SC RN licensure or a compact state, and BLS is mandatory; ACLS is also typically required for most hospital areas. Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/Healthcare Provider.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) also required for most nursing areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care using the nursing process to patients and families.
• Interact with the health care team to deliver safe and effective care and achieve desired results.
• Adhere to the scheduled hours: 40 per week, 7a–7:30p, Monday–Friday, with some call.
