Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our operating room team in New Jersey. The RN will provide direct patient care within a fast-paced OR, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists and staff to support safe, efficient operations.

The role requires an active New Jersey nursing license, BLS/CPR certification, and experience in OR or involvement in the Nurse Residency Program. On-call availability within 30 minutes is required.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• Active American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.
• Must have six or more months of nursing experience OR must be an active participant with Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.
• 1 year of nursing experience strongly preferred.
• OR experience preferred.
• National certification preferred.
• Must be self-starter who works well independently.
• Time management and prioritizing skills a must. Ability to multi task.
• The ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing patient needs, a strong sense of accountability for improving the lives of our patients and their caregivers, an exceptional focus on teamwork, dedication to ongoing education and the ability and passion to deliver the highest quality of care based on a strong sense of patient focus are all required.
• Must be within 30 minutes of the hospital as on-call is required.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population to achieve desired outcomes; directs and oversees care provided by other caregivers through delegation, validation, evaluation, and coordination.
• Provides effective direct care as part of the interdisciplinary team to a variety of complex patients.
• Coordinates patient care/unit activities among nursing peers, physicians and support services.
• Scrubs and circulates on a variety of surgical cases in a busy OR department.
