Job summary

Qualifications

• English proficiency required for direct patient care.
• Graduate from an approved nursing program with active RN licensure.
• Current, full, unrestricted RN license in the United States.
• Foreign education may require equivalency validation and licensure
• VA qualification standards may apply for grade and progression

Responsibilities

• Protects patients from injury from chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal sources.
• Performs surgical counts to prevent retained items.
• Participates in Time Out to verify site and side and follow documentation.
• Administers medications and manages perioperative care.
• Documents care promptly and accurately in the electronic health record.
• Performs SOPs for reusable medical equipment and coordinates with Sterile Processing and Infection Control.
