Pay Range: $36.0000 to $57.5400 USD
The Operating Room RN provides safe nursing care in a timely manner to patients on the assigned unit with a high degree of independence. Performs within the scope of a RN as defined by the Vermont State Board of Nursing, functions regularly as charge nurse.
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or enrolled in an accredited Direct Entry to Master of Science in Nursing Program with current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Vermont (VT RN license or Compact State RN)
Experience: Successful completion of Surgical Services orientation
Certifications Required: BLS required and ACLS required within 6 months of hire; PALS, CNOR encouraged.
Reports To: Director Surgical Services
Other Contacts: Charge nurse, providers and their staff, shift administrator, patients and their families/visitors, hospital staff, public, and other health care/community agencies
Machinery or Equipment Used: All office and patient care equipment
Physical Demands: Lifts, positions and/or transfers patients; pushes, moves and lifts heavy equipment/supplies; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching; prolonged extensive or considerable standing/walking; manual dexterity in using office equipment
Working Conditions: Exposure to crisis or stressful situations, infectious diseases/blood borne pathogens, Possible stress from emergency situation and multiple interruptions; subject to irregular hours and unpredictable work situations
Required Protective Equipment: Masks and/or PAPR, gown, sterile and non-sterile gloves, face shield, goggles
