Job summary

Fairview Health Services is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Operating Room team at University of Minnesota Medical Center East Bank in Minneapolis, MN. This role serves an all-adult patient population and works with surgical technologists, nursing assistants, schedulers, instrument technicians, and MDs.

The OR team handles 45-50 scheduled cases per day; rotating day/evening/night shifts, 64 hours every two weeks, with one weekend shift per period.

Qualifications

• MN RN license required
• BLS for Health Care Providers required
• Minimum of 1 year OR RN experience or 2 years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Establish an environment of safety for the surgical patient and act as circulator or scrub as needed.
• Apply aseptic technique and maintain sterile fields.
• Confirm identity and verify procedure, site, and laterality.
• Assist with skin preparation and wound management.
• Ensure perioperative environment safety and sanitation.
