Job summary

OakLeaf Surgical Hospital in Wisconsin is seeking an Operating Room RN to manage nursing care in the OR, support the surgical team, and ensure a safe, efficient environment for patient operations. You will advocate for patient rights, participate in Time-Out procedures, monitor equipment, and provide medication administration and post‑operative education.

The role requires ADN, Wisconsin RN license, BLS, and willingness to obtain ACLS and PALS within six months.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the U.S.
• ADN from an accredited program
• Current Wisconsin RN license
• BLS certification on hire
• ACLS and PALS within six months of hire
• Operating room experience preferred
• Must have a cell phone for secure messaging

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in the operating room and assist the team to maintain a safe patient environment
• Advocate for patient rights and ensure compassionate care tailored to individual needs
• Assess patient health problems and collaborate with the healthcare team to plan, implement, and evaluate care
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and educate patients and families
• Operate and monitor surgical equipment and ensure asepsis and infection control
• Record care information concisely and accurately, respond to emergencies, and report incidents
• Perform pre-procedural Time-Outs to prevent wrong-site or wrong-procedure events
• Cross-train to other nursing departments and participate in on-call rotations
• Communicate hand-offs to PACU RNs and maintain secure messaging workflow
• Prepare OR for procedures and ensure equipment functionality
