Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems is seeking a Clinical Nurse I–III in Perioperative Services. The role spans Pre-Admission Testing, OR, and Central Sterile, with a Monday–Friday days schedule and rotating call; 4 ten-hour shifts or 5 eight-hour shifts.

Call includes 12 shifts every 8 weeks, with 2 Fridays and 4 weekend days. The team emphasizes collaborative care, education, and opportunities for clinical ladder advancement.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state.
• Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required; RN to BSN enrollment within 2 years and completion within 5 years.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• Experience levels: Clin II 12–24 months RN; Clin III 3 years of clinical experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver and document age-specific care per medical orders within an interdisciplinary plan.
• Safely administer prescribed medications and monitor for interactions.
• Provide direction, education, and leadership at the unit level.
• Support the health care team in prevention of illness and maintenance of wellness.
