Responsibilities

• Educates patients and families about procedures, expectations, and support resources, acting as a liaison between physician and patient.
• Demonstrates competence in scrubbing and/or circulating roles across various surgical services.
• Prepares instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols.
• Maintains patient safety by preventing adverse events, monitoring for complications, and managing operative specimens.
• Participates in safety, quality, and regulatory activities; engages in professional development and mentorship.
