Job summary

Jobot is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse - OR Circulator for a full‑time, permanent position in Connecticut. Shifts are 4x10s or 5x8s with day shift start times around 7am; there are no nights, weekends, or on‑call obligations.

The ideal candidate will have a BSN preferred, CT RN licensure, 2+ years of OR circulating experience (orthopedics preferred), BLS/ACLS, and CNOR is a plus. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential; compensation is competitive with strong benefits.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgery and set up instruments/equipment; maintain sterile conditions.
• Verify patient identity and review procedures to prevent errors.
• Assess patients pre‑op (e.g., NPO) and support anxious patients.
• Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons during procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety during surgery.
• Monitor vital signs and patient safety throughout the operation.
• Coordinate post‑operative recovery and room turnover.
• Document actions and ongoing care requirements.

Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, and passionate Full time, Permanent Registered Nurse - OR Circulator to join our dynamic healthcare team.

Shift: 4x10s or 5x8s, Day shift, cases start at 7am. No nights, No weekends, No holidays, No call

Salary: $39 - $55 per hour

Responsibilities

1. Preparing the operating room for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile conditions.
2. Adhering to safety standards and precautions, including verifying patient identity and reviewing surgical procedures to prevent errors.
3. Assessing patients before surgery (e.g., NPO status) and comforting them while alleviating their anxiety.
4. Assisting surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
5. Working together with the surgical team, communicating patient information, and ensuring patient safety during the operation.
6. Monitoring patient's vital signs and maintaining patient's safety during the operation.
7. Coordinating post-operative care, including patient recovery and room turnover.
8. Documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing patient care requirements.
9. Participating in ongoing educational activities to maintain competency and improve professional skills.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
2. Current Connecticut state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
3. A minimum of 2 years of circulating experience in an operating room, including experience in orthopedics
4. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
5. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred.
6. Demonstrated ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
8. Proficient in the use of medical software and equipment.
