Job summary

LeoForce is seeking a Registered Nurse - Operating Room Circulator in Hartford, CT for a full-time, permanent position. The role involves preparing the OR, assisting surgeons, and ensuring patient safety throughout procedures.

Applicants should have a BSN, CT RN licensure, BLS/ACLS, and 2+ years circulating with orthopedic exposure. CNOR is preferred. Excellent benefits and no on-call requirements are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Current Connecticut state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.
• A minimum of 2 years of circulating experience, including at least 1 year in orthopedics.
• Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
• CNOR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgery and set up instruments, maintaining sterile conditions.
• Adhere to safety standards and verify patient identity and procedures to prevent errors.
• Assess patients pre-operatively and support them to reduce anxiety.
• Assist surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and sterile supplies.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and communicate clinical information.
• Monitor vital signs and maintain patient safety during procedures.
• Coordinate post-operative care and room turnover.
• Document actions and communicate care needs clearly.
• Engage in ongoing education to maintain competency and advance skills.

Registered Nurse - Operating Room Circulator

Location: Hartford, CT, US

Salary: $39 - $55 per hour

Contract: Full time, Permanent

Working hours: Day shift - 4x10s or 5x8s

Shift details: No call, no weekends, no holidays. Excellent benefits. Lunch provided daily.

Responsibilities:

1. Preparing the operating room for surgery, setting up surgical instruments and equipment, maintaining sterile conditions.


2. Adhering to safety standards and precautions, including verifying patient identity and reviewing surgical procedures to prevent errors.


3. Assessing patients before surgery (e.g., NPO status) and comforting them while alleviating their anxiety.


4. Assisting surgeons during surgery by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.


5. Working together with the surgical team, communicating patient information, and ensuring patient safety during the operation.


6. Monitoring patient's vital signs and maintaining patient's safety during the operation.


7. Coordinating post-operative care, including patient recovery and room turnover.


8. Documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing patient care requirements.


9. Participating in ongoing educational activities to maintain competency and improve professional skills.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.


• Current Connecticut state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) required.


• A minimum of 2 years of circulating experience, including at least 1 year of experience in orthopedics.


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.


• Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification preferred.


• Demonstrated ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment.
