Job Description: Under the leadership of the department director, assistant director, nursing supervisor, and/or charge nurse, the registered nurse is responsible and accountable for planning, directing, assessing and providing nursing care according to the policies and procedures of the hospital and department. Important dimensions of this position consist of quality of care, professional commitment, teamwork, interpersonal skills, safety, good public/customer relations and a broad nursing knowledge.

Key Responsibilities

• The registered nurse is an experienced nurse who shall orient new staff, precept students, and assume relief charge nurse duty as oriented and assigned.
• Applies the nursing process to perform circulating and/or scrub nurse duties for procedures throughout Surgical Services.
• Must be able to take call per hospital on-call policy guidelines.

Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.

Licensure / Certifications

• State of California RN license required.
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
• ACLS certification must be obtained prior to completion of orientation and independent assignment for those hired/transferred into Operating Room position on or after March 1, 2024.
• Existing employees must obtain ACLS certification by September 1, 2025.
• PALS certification preferred.

Work Hours

Assigned Work Hours: 12-hour shifts 6:30pm-7:00am Monday-Friday 0.75 FTE; 60 hours per pay period (alternating 2 and 3 shifts per work week within the pay period)

• Pay Range (based on years of applicable experience): $72.83 to $97.40
• The hours employees work determine when a shift differential is paid.
• Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $5.50
• Hourly Night Shift Differential: $8.00
