Job summary

MU Healthcare is seeking a dedicated Nurse, OR/Recovery to join our surgical team at University Hospital in Columbia, MO. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, teamwork, and clinical excellence with responsibilities across pre-, intra-, and post-operative care.

The position requires MO RN licensure (or multi-state Compact) and at least 1 year of RN experience, with four 10-hour shifts (6:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.) and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Must have RN license in Missouri or multi-state compact; must transfer if residency changes.
• Minimum of 1 year RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for assigned patients.
• Educate patients, families, and health professionals as appropriate.
• Report observations to physicians and nursing leadership and document accurately.
• Maintain nursing standards and follow hospital policies.
• Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality improvement activities.
• Support nursing research as appropriate.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Perform department-specific duties as outlined in documents.
