Job summary

MU Health Care is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse, OR/Recovery to join our surgical team at Keene Street Medical Center in Columbia, MO. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, clinical assessment, and pre-/intra-/postoperative interventions to support high-quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate holds a Missouri RN license, has at least one year of nursing experience, and demonstrates strong assessment, care planning, and teamwork in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Qualifications

• Missouri Board of Nursing RN license or Nursing Compact multi-state RN.
• One year of RN experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to an assigned group of patients.
• Plan, direct, and/or participate in the education of the patient, family, community, and health professionals.
• Report pertinent observations and reactions regarding patients to the appropriate person (physicians, head nurse, charge nurse, nursing supervisor) and record those observations accurately and concisely.
• Maintain the standards of nursing care and implement hospital policies and procedures.
• Participate in meetings, in-services, and quality and performance improvement groups.
• Participate in nursing research.
• Provide quality care to patients and work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the highest patient satisfaction.
• May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents.
