Job summary

TriStar Centennial Medical Center in Nashville is seeking an Operating Room Nurse (RN) to evaluate patients prior to surgery, educate families, and manage preoperative care including IV therapy and medications. You will participate in safety protocols and work with a dynamic interdisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.

The role requires RN licensure and an ADN/BSN or RN diploma, with on-site schedule 6:30–3:00, Monday through Friday with some on-call.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN licensure is required to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the procedure and peri-operative process.
• Assume responsibility for patient preparation, including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification.
• Participate in surgical site verification, including briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocols, according to hospital policy.
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while applying evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Be an integral member of a dynamic interdisciplinary team.
• Consistently apply the nursing process, critical thinking, and leadership to deliver safe care.
• Assess patient condition, monitor throughout shift, and document changes thoroughly.
• Educate patients and families about the medical condition, treatment and follow-up measures
