Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System in Braselton, GA, is seeking a Registered Nurse Educator for the Operating Room. This full-time role combines clinical nursing with unit-based education, mentoring staff, and coordinating orientation.

The RN Educator will lead competency assessments, design education plans for OR staff, and collaborate with surgeons to align education with current standards. The role requires GA RN licensure, BSN, and a few years of acute care and education experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia; professional certification in either a clinical or education specialty within two (2) years of hire.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing; if ADN, must obtain BSN within two (2) years of hire.
• Three (3) years of direct care RN nursing experience with a minimum of one (1) year in an acute care facility; previous staff development and education experience.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan and evaluate patient care; guides students and staff in development of care plans.
• Performs and documents assessments; makes recommendations for patients with complex needs.
• Promotes discharge planning through collaboration with Case Management.
• Serves as a liaison between patients/families, physicians, and other health care members.
• Assists and monitors development and compliance of clinical pathways.
• Evaluates patient response to care and recommends plan modifications; teaches patients and families.
• Participates in education programs for staff and mentors Registered Nurses; supports orientation of new staff.
• Provides education on operating room procedures; partners with OR leadership for onboarding and competency assessments.
