Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our Jersey Shore University Medical Center team. You will deliver evidence-based nursing care, communicate with the care team, and utilize advanced bar-scanning and documentation tools to ensure safe medication delivery.

Qualifications include NJ nursing license, BLS/CPR within 60 days, and 6 months of nursing experience or nurse residency program participation. OR/CVOR experience and national certs are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current and valid New Jersey Nursing license is required.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association within 60 days of hire.
• Must have a minimum of 6 months of nursing experience or be an active participant in the Hackensack Meridian Health Nurse Residency program.
• OR nursing experience preferred.
• CVOR experience preferred.
• National certification preferred.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three years of hire.
• Motivated team member responsible for scrubbing and circulating on variety of surgical cases in busy OR department.
• Must be self-starter who works well independently.
• Time management and prioritizing skills a must; ability to multi task.
• Strong sense of accountability for improving lives of our patients and their caregivers, exceptional focus on teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Delivery of nursing practices according to evidence-based research and standards of care to provide safe and excellent patient care.
• Ongoing communication with patients, nursing colleagues and health care team regarding patient status, care and plans.
• Medication administration using bar-scanning and documentation technologies to ensure safe delivery.
• Ongoing Point-of-Care electronic documentation of assessments, plan-of-care, interventions and evaluation.
• Patient and family education to optimize health and disease management.
• Multi-disciplinary discharging of patients to ensure safe transitioning and continuum of care.
